Market day.

For the last couple of months we have doing market day at Russell street school. Market day is where our whole school has to make a product. Example: model planes, ginger bread men and stress balls. We have a money budget and we are not allowed to go passed that budget. In potama there are groups of three and they all have a budget of 20$. In my group we were doing something a bit different we were letting people have 1 timed lap driving an rc car for 50c. We managed to make 40$.here is the slide that help us on the way and our reflection.

Portfolio sample rich task

At the start of the term we did a rich task a rich task is where the whole class does the same question. We don't know anything about what this question we just have to take a guess.  After we did the question and answers we rated how we had done. I rated myself a 3 that means I am almost there. Then we did some workshops for a whole week. One of the workshops that we needed to learn  the most area and weight. Then the next Monday. We did the sheet again. I did way better than I did the last time. Here is the reflection slide

Portfolio sample Book buddies

This trem we are doing book buddy's. Book buddy's is where you get put together with someone that is at the same level reading they read as fast as you and they like the same books as you. I got put together with louis. We have been reading the hunger games and now we agree to read why the whales came. We have a couch we chose troy. Here is a slide that has all of our work on it. Evaluation I think me and Louis are a great team sometimes we may argue but m we get along. Maybe next time I could talk a little bit more with him instead of always doing the same thing all the time picking the green cards 

Portfolio sample calender art

This term for our calender art we are doing self portraits. But we are not doing your ordinary self portraits. On the out sides of our self portraits we have to put symbols that represents us. For example I love dancing so I zoomed on the floor. This makes me remember that I love dancing. Here is the slide that has my self portrait on it and all the other stuff that helped us on the way.

Portfolio post ET REO

Kia ora Every Monday we do ETreo. This team we have been focusing on different whakataukis. A whakatauki is a quote our a proverb. My favorite whakatauki is He aha the mea nui o te ao. In English that whakatauki means what is the most important thing I the world. He tangata he tangata he tangata. That means the people the people the people. So we created some people here is a photo of all the people that do ETreo and a picture of mine. Enjoy

Thanks juven I am going to take in what juven said I loved that there was no shire spots. Maybe I could have taken it slow and not rushed it.

Troy writing group portfolio sample the lotto winner

This trem we are in different Groupes I am in the group where we are working on word. For the last couple of weeks we are working on story's about the waking of tennis balls. But this not your average how to make tennis balls we had to watch a video about tennis balls but we couldn't have any thing to do with it. So after we got our words and we sorted them into the ones we wanted to keep and the we didn't  want to keep after that we did the planning of our story. After we planed we get to do my favorite  part WRITE!!!!!. We at least had to have  4 sentences. I did mine with to parts. Here is the video of the tennis ball making and the story. Enjoy

Being part of a conversation

Description: We are learning about different kinds of listening. There are three kinds of listening. Active listening, me to listening and busy listening. Here is a video that has two out of the three kinds of listening.

Feedback:Both good examples of listening. One good and one a bad way to listen. 

Feedford: The title of conflict is not perhaps right. Need to think of another more suitable. 

Evaluation:I think I did do a good job on the movie with my friends. Plus: we all had everything ready so we could just get on with the movie. Minus: I would have work in more of a quite space because it was a bit had to here the talking over the background.

Portfolio sample sport start game

this month we are doing this thing called sport start. Its when the teachers teach us new sport games I love sport start because I  love sport and learning new thing like this game i am about to show you.It is called gates. all you need are a set of cones a bean bag or a ball. you set up the cones so that they are not to far apart and not to close then get a ball and throw it to each other five times. You can throw it any way you want. Then you go to another gate and start throwing the ball you can do this over and over again with a new buddy. Here is a video of me and jack playing gates.

Discovery time

Today for discovery time I was doing electronics. Electronics is where we break abart old things that don't work and see what is inside the item. Today I helped break apart a fan, a microscope and a keyboard from a computer. Here are two of the parts that are important they are both called circuit boards . They are from the keyboard and the microscope. Hope you like them and keep tinkering with electronics.

The naming of clouds.

In our reading workshop we have been learning about the naming of clouds. Here is a story that I made.

Story:The naming of clouds 


"LUKE HOWARD." Yelled the teacher." Yes mam." Said Luke Howard. Luke howard that is a young man that is fascinated in clouds. He would not listen in class he would just stare up into the sky and wonder.




After school and intermediate he was in high school where he got a mini job as a pharmest. But all he thought about is clouds. So after college he quit being a pharmest and became a meteorologist witch studyeds all kinds of weather. Study means watching you can't just snap off a bit of rainbow our pinch some cloud. But you can collect rain but you are just collecting water.


After learning Laten he used his knowledge and named the clouds. They were cumulus, strates and and ciries. Cumulus is a puffy cloud that moves very slowly through the sky. You see this cloud offen in the day. Ciries is a layered cloud that you normally see in bunches of cloud.strates is a silky cloud that is high in the sky and it is very thin.


And to this day there are many clouds like cirrostratus,stratocumulus and nimbs.

SLC reflection

On Tuesday I did my student lead confrence. Here is my refection 


1) How do you think you did on your SLC? What was the highlight?
I think I did well at my SLC because I didn't put my hand up to my mouth, my mum and dad could hear me a lot easyer. My highlight was when I was sharing my learning. 



2) What did you do differently to make your SLC stand out?

I think I made my SLC stand out by being ready to share by having my iPad screen on the right. And practiceing before the real SLC.







3) How will you make your Home Led Conference in Term 3 be awesome? What things might you do to make it awesome? Maybe get mum and dad a coffee and a biscuit or take them to cafe bree.

MToday for maths I was doing a formula with my match sticks. Here is a work sheet that I did.
I also got to do my on Match stick shape on that paper. Here I my match stick formula that I did in my book.


I asked Alex if he could figure my question out it repeats 10 times.

Portfolio sample seed to table

Today for sience we were investigating if 2 year old seeds would still be alive. I tried radish seeds, we didn't use any soil all you need is a plastic bag, seeds a bucket a bucket full of water and 2 paper towel. First you fold the 2 paper towels in half and the pit them in the water to soak. Then you get six seeds and put them on the wet paper towel. Then you fold the sides in and put it in a plastic bag with your name on it. That is how you find out how you find out if a seed is still alive. Here is a photo of how I made mine.

At the moment in maths we are learning algebra we are also learning about a time line and and placing different things in different places here is a photo of what we had to place in a time line.
After we knew where everything went on the time line we made a time line and added where everything went here is a photo of our timeline
